Most of the basement requires demolition of walls, mold remediation, and reconstruction with a new functional layout. The project includes updating the ceiling to an exposed style including replacement of HVAC soft pipe with metal, removal and disposal of ceiling insulation, installation of electrical housing for 6" LED disc lighting, and spray painting all ceiling joists, HVAC, electrical, and related items with white flat ceiling paint. The fire suppression system must be updated, and a beam must be installed to replace an existing bearing wall. Electrical systems must be updated to match the new layout. Drywall texture must match the rest of the building. The new layout will create a large room for youth activities, with wall paint and trim matching the Benjamin Moore French Canvas satin and Tapestry Beige trim on the main level. Baseboard trim of 5" craftsman style will be installed, and 2'x2' Shaw Contract carpet tiles will be used for flooring. There is an option to renovate the current bathroom to maximize ceiling height, install necessary drywall, and texture walls and ceiling to match the rest of the building, preparing it for LVP installation.
