The 2026 PCC Pavement Patching Project is located on numerous City Streets within the City of Webster City. The project consists of approximately 4,652 square yards of 9-inch thick PCC patching, 443 square yards of 10-inch thick PCC patching, 5,721 square yards of 4-inch thick special backfill subbase (city furnished), 40 linear feet of 2.5-foot width 7-inch thick PCC curb and gutter, 70 linear feet of 4.0-foot width 8-inch thick PCC curb and gutter, 118 SY of driveway removal, 118 SY of 6-inch thick PCC driveway, 13 minor manhole adjustments, erosion control, and temporary traffic control. There is one additive bid alternate located on South Edgewood Drive approximately 50' east of Superior Street within the City of Webster City. The additive bid alternate includes 453 square yards of 9-inch thick PCC patching, 480 SY of 4-inch thick special backfill, erosion control, and temporary traffic control. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to the City of Webster City, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instructions to Bidders and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bond on the form provided in the Contract Documents with corporate Surety satisfactory to the City of Webster City. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish a corporate Surety Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. Said Bond shall be issued by a responsible Surety approved by the City of Webster City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Webster City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two (2) years from and after acceptance of the Contract. The Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued after satisfactory review of executed bonds, insurance, and contract, with a late start date of May 4, 2026 . The Contractor shall fully complete the project, including the bid add alternative, if selected, by July 24, 2026. Fully complete includes having all pavement patching, driveways, crack cleaning and sealing, final restoration and ALL work areas open to use by the public. Work once commenced shall be diligently worked to completion. Should the Contractor fail to fully complete the work within the time allotted, liquidated damages of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) per calendar day shall be applied for each calendar day until the work is fully completed. The City of Webster City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
