Renovation of a recreation facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.

The ABQ BioPark Zoo first opened the Gorilla habitat in the 1960s in its current location. Since then, the Gorilla space (building and yards) have expanded and been renovated approximately 3 times due to troop size as well as changes in animal management and well-being, as dictated by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the licensing body of the ABQ BioPark. The City of Albuquerque and the BioPark is seeking CMAR to facilitate pre-construction services, with intent to award a firm with construction of the expansion and enhancement of two gorilla habitats for two troops, renovation of the existing gorilla management building, new outdoor off-habitat yard and transfer chute, and expand visitor viewing and address universal design standards. Pre-construction of this project is anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2026, and construction should be completed by Spring 2028. Please be advised the design consultant has already been contracted for this project. This procurement process is a combined technical qualifications and cost-based selection. The Offeror is required to provide qualifications and other documents as part of the Technical Proposal. The Cost Proposal will be evaluated separately from the Technical Proposal. Offeror's attention is specifically directed to: the Instructions to Offerors; Special Provisions; and, the Supplemental Special Provisions contained in the Proposal Documents.
