Renovation of a water / sewer project in Sunrise, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade water / sewer project.

The work consists of the replacement of existing fire alarm systems with addressable fire alarm systems at the City of Sunrise Sawgrass Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant. This includes furnishing and installing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for demolition of existing fire alarm systems, installation and integration of new addressable fire alarm systems throughout the facility. The work encompasses all general appurtenances, equipment, conduit, wiring, fiber optics, network devices, electrical systems, fire alarm control panels, fire alarm power supplies, signaling devices, notification appliances, engineering, site investigation, site restoration, construction sequencing requirements, preparation and submittal of shop drawings, integration, coordination with Owner, testing, start-up services, NFPA 72 required documentation and related work required for a complete operable fire alarm system in accordance with the 2021 Florida Fire Preventative Code. The installation shall include but is not limited to: construction sequencing, engineering, signed and sealed fire alarm system shop drawings, as-built investigation, preparation of a final conduit plan, application and obtaining of permits from the City of Sunrise, preparation for installation of raceway, surface restoration, installation of conductors and fiber optic through conduit, completion of all wiring and fiber connections, fiber optic testing, building conduit penetrations, restoration and sealant, installation of fire alarm equipment and final terminations, and commissioning of the completed systems. Fire watch during the construction period will be provided by City of Sunrise staff. The work is located at three sites: Sawgrass WWTP Operation and Maintenance Building, Sawgrass WTP Process/Mech Building, and Sawgrass WWTP High Service Pump Building. Instructions to bidders include the following requirements: The contractor must have a valid State of Florida Certified General Contractors License and/or Specialty Contractors License and have completed at least three projects of similar type, size, and complexity within the past ten years with verifiable references. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference and site visit is mandatory for bidders. Contractors are responsible for bringing required subcontractors to these events. The city will be the sole judge of qualification requirements. Bids not complying with these requirements may be rejected.
