The work includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant work to remove and replace concrete sidewalks, curb and gutters, driveways, cross gutters and spandrels, ADA ramps, asphalt concrete saw-cutting, excavation, furnishing and placing backfill, asphalt concrete pavement slot repairs, and traffic control. All Bidders must be plan holders of record to submit a proposal, which requires purchasing all contract documents from the designated online plan room. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the total bid price, and successful bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. Bidders and subcontractors must comply with the state prevailing wage requirements, submit proof of valid contractor and business licenses, and be registered with the DIR. The City may withhold five percent from progress payments as retention. Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and liquidated damages of $3,600 per calendar day apply for exceeding the project deadline. Bidders are directed to carefully review the Instructions to Bidders for additional details before submitting proposals. The Work under this section shall consist of removal, disposal, coordination, relocation, salvaging, reconstruction and protection of existing facilities which interfere with, or are within a close proximity of, the proposed construction of a street and park improvements; storm drain, sewer lines, and waterline improvements. All such Work shall be accomplished in accordance with the applicable provisions of the SSPWC, and these Specifications and Special Provisions as directed by the Engineer. This Section includes Specifications for furnishing and installing Surface Applied Tactile/Detectable Warning Surface Tiles in an inline truncated dome pattern on all curb ramps and walking surfaces at the locations and to the dimensions shown on the Drawings, in accordance with the latest ADA Standards for Accessible design and these Special Provisions as directed by the Engineer. The Work under this Section shall consist of removal and disposal of existing facilities which interfere with, or are within a close proximity of, the proposed construction of a street and water improvements. All such Work shall be accomplished in accordance with the applicable provisions of the SSPWC Section 401 and these Special Provisions as directed by the Engineer.
