Disclaimer: If you are interested in bidding on this project, you MUST purchase bid documents from Parette Somjen Architects by calling 973-586-2400 The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to: the removal and replacement of unit ventilators and air handlers in classrooms and replacement of gym RTU; the removal and replacement of the existing main building electrical switch gear; the removal of the existing outdated public address system; the replacement of the existing gym wood floor with new floor system and installation; renovation of room 115 with new paint, floor finishes, ceiling and light fixtures; renovations of the existing science rooms with new paint, floor finishes, millwork and work surfaces, ceilings and light fixtures, and electrical and plumbing; renovations of the existing art rooms with new paint, floor finishes, millwork and work surfaces, ceilings and light fixtures, and electrical and plumbing; renovations of the existing music, chorus and practice rooms with new paint, floor finishes, ceilings and light fixtures, acoustical padding, and new HVAC ductwork; renovations to the second floor commons classrooms with new wall paint, floor finishes, ceiling and light fixtures; and remaining classroom renovations to receive new paint, floor finishes, ceiling and light fixtures. The contract documents define the full project scope. Bids must include a minimum of twenty percent (20%) of the total scope of work performed by the bidder or named subcontractors certified as an MBE, WBE, or SBE. Bids will be received for a lump sum price for the entire project, all trades inclusive. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) in specific classifications and submit required documentation, including a Certificate of Prequalification/Classification, Affidavit as to the Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts, Statement of Ownership, Public Works Contractor Registration, Business Registration Certificate, and an affidavit regarding debarment status. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in the required form and amount. Additional bonds will be required from the successful bidder. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject non-responsive bids or all bids and to waive minor informalities if it is in their best interest. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder as defined by law. No modifications to the instructions or specifications will be permitted except by addenda.
