The Contractor shall provide services to repair and/or install roofs, as needed, on various Town-owned buildings. This includes related work to gutters, roof drains, parapets, and more. The Contractor must respond to work requests within 24 hours and cannot begin work without approval from the Building Construction & Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works. All work must comply with OSHA safety regulations, and the Contractor is responsible for site security, proper posting, and debris removal and disposal. A one-year warranty on materials and workmanship is required. Specific certifications as approved installers for Carlisle, GAF, and Firestone Roofing must be submitted with the bid, with the bidding company named as the qualified installer on the certifications. Work includes handling and removal of asbestos-containing materials as necessary, and bidders must be trained for such handling. The Contractor must be capable of working with various roofing types including EPDM, asphalt, slate, and metal. Bidders are to complete and return all reply sheets with pricing that covers all costs related to the procurement, including shipping, installation, labor, insurance, and permits. Bidders must also submit proof of registration as a valid Contractor with the State Department of Consumer Protection. Failure to provide all certifications will result in the bidder being considered non-responsive. The bid pricing shall remain valid for at least ninety days, and the awarded Contractor will need to provide specified insurance coverage. All costs for bid preparation are the responsibility of the bidder, and the Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids not deemed in its best interest.
