The Owner is accepting Bids for Hydraulic Dredging of Fountain Lake, located in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Bid Line Items are included for a Base Scope of Work and an Optional Scope of Work. The Base Scope of Work includes Hydraulic Dredging of approximately 310,000 cubic yards of sediment from Bancroft Channel and East Main Bay. The Optional Scope of Work includes Hydraulic Dredging of approximately 240,000 cubic yards of sediment from North (Bancroft) Bay. Actual quantities to be removed from, and Work within, North (Bancroft) Bay are pending permit approvals and/or modifications. These are presented as optional items on the Bid Form. Optional means optional to the Owner. Bidders shall provide costs for both the Base Work and the Optional Work within the Bid Form All questions about the meaning or intent of the Request for Bid (RFB) shall be directed to Mark Walter at Geosyntec (Engineer), in writing (email transmissions are acceptable). Interpretation or clarifications considered necessary by Owner in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda The construction Work included in this RFB will include hydraulically Dredging approximately 310,000 cubic yards of sediment from Bancroft Channel and East Main Bay, and potentially an addition of approximately 240,000 cubic yards of sediment from North (Bancroft) Bay (approximately 550,000 cubic yards total) to CDF Cells 1, 2, and 3 and operating and maintaining CDF Cells 1, 2, and 3 during sediment processing and dewatering operations. This work package includes, but is not limited to the following tasks: Preparation of work plans, and submittals as required in the Contract Documents and any subsequent Addenda. Establishment of survey controls at the Site and layout work limits for elements of the Work. Preparation of staging and access areas. Identify, locate, and protect all utilities in work areas. Pre- and post-Dredge bathymetric surveys. Pre- and post-construction surveys of areas impacted or potentially impacted by the Work (e.g., CDF cells, Dredge pipeline routes, support areas). Construction of Dredge conveyance pipeline, booster stations, and mobilization of equipment. Contractor shall complete all Work, as specified or indicated in the Contract Documents, in compliance with all permit requirements, as detailed in Volume 4, and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
