Demolition and site work for a bridge / tunnel in Salisbury, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
The scope of work includes: Bridge Removal, Miscellaneous Grading and Concrete, Guardrail, and Fence. Contractors offering proposals on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. Complete plans, specifications, and contract documents will be open for inspection at Summit Design & Engineering Services, 320 Executive Court, Hillsborough, NC 27278. Electronic copies of the contract, specifications, and plans may be obtained by contacting Kaylee Fender with Summit Design & Engineering Services or Chris Tester with the Salisbury Public Works Department. Minority and disadvantaged business enterprises are invited and encouraged to bid. The date of availability for this project will be the Date of the Notice to Proceed. The Contractor may begin work prior to this date upon approval of the Engineer or his duly authorized representative. If such approval is given, and the Contractor begins work prior to the date of availability, the City of Salisbury will assume no responsibility for any delays caused prior to the date of availability by any reason whatsoever, and such delays, if any, will not constitute a valid reason for extending the completion date. No work will be permitted, and no purchase order will be issued until all required bonds and prerequisite conditions and certifications have been satisfied. The completion date for this project is June 1 st , 2026. No extensions will be authorized except as authorized by Article 108-10 of the NCDOT 2024 Standard Specifications. Access is to be maintained to the drive nearest the bridge for the Noble & Kelsey Funeral Home. Access should also be maintained to the residential access, 305 E Innes Street. The City of Salisbury requests that the Contractor salvages the steel beams and delivers them to 1920 Old Wilkesboro Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.
