The Architect/Engineer (A/E) shall provide comprehensive design services for Project 659-26-500 B6, 13, & 18 Roof Replacement at the W\.G. Bill Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Services include schematics, design development, construction documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, construction period services, site visits, and as-built documentation. The project involves removing existing roof membranes, cover boards, insulation, and base flashings; performing infrared testing; and installing new cover boards, base flashings, roof membranes, and associated warranties for three buildings. Buildings 13 and 18 require complete roof replacement, while Building 6 requires replacement of remaining roof sections covering offices, tunnels/connectors, theater, and gym areas. Roof access provisions for Building 18 must be updated to meet safety standards, including ladder anchorages and safety cages. The new roofing systems must include all flashings, penetrations, traffic pads, and accessories for a complete system with proper drainage slope gradients and roof edge fall protection. Additional work includes replacing unsuitable or damaged coping, flashings, penetrations, blocking, curbs, roof boots, pads/pavers, walk pads, pipe supports, lightning protection, term bars, roof drains, cants, ladders, anchorages, and safety cages, as well as disposal of all removed materials. If multiple roof layers exist, removal down to the deck is required. Location: W\.G. Bill Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144. The magnitude of construction for this project is currently between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000.
