Project: Orchard Street Improvement Project Department: Department of Community Services, Division of Engineering & Public Works Scope of Work: The major items of the project include HMA milling (2" or less) for 6,815 square yards, installing hot mix asphalt 9.5M64 surface course (2" thick) for 870 tons, constructing concrete sidewalk (4" thick) for 420 square yards, and installing 1,270 linear feet of granite curb. Instructions to Bidders: All bids must be addressed to the Purchasing Agent, City of Summit, 512 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901. Bids and bid securities must be enclosed in a properly SEALED envelope with the name of the bidder and the nature of the bid clearly indicated on the outside. A bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid, not to exceed $20,000.00, is required in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check made payable to the City of Summit. Bidders are required to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and requirements, including but not limited to: Prevailing Wage Act, Statement of Ownership Disclosure, Affirmative Action, Business Registration, and the City's minimum standard insurance requirements. The Common Council reserves the right to reject all bids or proposals, waive minor defects, and consider bids for sixty days after receipt pursuant to the Local Public Contracts Law. All work must be completed by June 30, 2026.
