The Contractor is to remove and dispose of spent activated carbon media from both tanks during the 2026 and 2027 calendar years as deemed necessary by 3rd party testing, procured by MMSD. The anticipated scope is two media change outs per tank per calendar year for two years, totaling eight media change outs. The Contractor must furnish and install new activated carbon media for both tanks. All equipment used for removing and replacing media must not carry an electrostatic charge, and documentation showing proper grounding steps will require Veolia’s review before extraction. The Contractor must provide an employee knowledgeable in nitrogen purging, as this is required to remove low levels of combustible gas in the tanks. The tank must be purged with nitrogen at 70 psi until gas flow at the tank vent indicates an absence of combustible gas, after which media removal and replacement can commence.
