The work consists of furnishing and installation of water lines, fittings, valves, and other related materials as described in the bidding documents for the Dillon Road and Mardi Gras Road Waterline Extension Project. Bidding requirements include the following instructions: - Obtain bidding documents physically or electronically. Payment for physical copies must be made by check or money order, and is nonrefundable. - Bids must be submitted electronically or at the stated office address by the specified deadline; late bids will not be considered. - There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting. Any contractor who fails to have a representative present at this meeting will not have their bid opened. - Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for 5% of the base bid plus any additive alternates. Specific requirements apply to bid bonds. - Selected contractors must provide performance and payment bonds of not less than 100% of the contract price during the project. - Only bids from contractors licensed per Louisiana's Contractors Licensing Law (Municipal and Public Works Construction classification) will be accepted for projects exceeding $50,000.
