Renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Carrboro, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
The engineering services required are for the rehabilitation and repairs of the Mason Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) bridge. Tasks may include the development of construction drawings, preparation and submission of permits from Federal, State, and Local agencies, assistance with bidding the construction work and recommendation of award, and providing construction phase services to monitor the contractor’s work for compliance with design and permits. The objective is to support rehabilitation addressing deficiencies noted in prior bridge inspection reports, such as scour protection, patching of concrete cored slabs and wingwalls, and metal rail repairs. The scope and specific tasks may be modified or expanded through negotiation with the selected engineering firm. The Statement of Qualifications should list the project team (including sub-consultants and respective roles), provide examples of related experience, describe the proposed project approach, and provide schedule information assuming a Notice to Proceed by February 6, 2026. PDF submittals are to be letter-size, limited to 6 pages (excluding cover, cover letter, title sheets, dividers, and resumes). The firm must have relevant experience with bridge repairs and scour protection.
