Orange Water and Sewer Authority has adopted a minimum ten (10%) percent goal for participation by minority businesses in the total value of the work for this project in accordance with Section 143-128.2 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. The project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and other necessary items for the renovation of existing laboratory space to allow for the complete and operable installation of laboratory equipment to analyze for PFAS and other trace compounds at the Jones Ferry Road Water Treatment Plant in Carrboro, NC, along with all associated appurtenances as described in the specifications and shown on the drawings. The foregoing description is not a complete description of all work required. Bids will be received for a Single Prime Lump Sum General Construction Contract. The Contractor and all Subcontractors must have valid North Carolina General Contractor's Licenses for the type and value of work to be performed. Each bidder is required to submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit. There is a minimum ten percent participation goal for minority businesses in the total value of the work. Orange Water and Sewer Authority requires Substantial Completion within 60 consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed and Final Completion within 80 consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed. Each bidder is advised that the work may be inspected and supervised by an Engineer or firm under the direction of Orange Water and Sewer Authority. All bidders should send an email indicating their intention to prepare a bid to ensure receipt of addenda and information notices. Bids shall be irrevocable for ninety calendar days after opening. The Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive informalities, disregard nonconforming or conditional bids or counter bids, and to accept the bid in its best interest.
