The project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and other necessities for the complete and operable installation of approximately 4,634 linear feet of 8-inch restrained joint polywrapped ductile iron water pipeline from the intersection of Raleigh Road and Burning Tree Drive through the intersection of Burning Tree Drive and Pinehurst Drive. Additional work includes the installation of approximately 831 linear feet of 2-inch SDR 17 PVC water main, 90 linear feet of 2-inch type "K" hard copper water main to be installed via open cut, installation of all temporary and new permanent water services and interconnections as required to install complete and operable water lines meeting all local and contract requirements, abandonment of approximately 5,470 linear feet of 8-inch AC water pipe by cellular concrete or grout fill, and all required traffic control, restoration, erosion and sediment control, permitting, and other related items as necessary to meet all requirements as described in the contract documents. This description is not to be construed as a complete description of all work required. Bids will be received for a Unit Price General Construction Contract. The Contractor and all Subcontractors must hold valid North Carolina General Contractor's Licenses. There is a minimum ten percent (10%) goal for participation by minority businesses for the total value of the work. Each bidder must be licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit pursuant to Section 133-30. Bids must be accompanied by a deposit of a certified or cashier's check equal to five percent (5%) of the bid amount, payable to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority. The successful bidder will be required to enter into the contract if awarded. Work may be inspected and supervised by an Engineer or firm under the direction of Orange Water and Sewer Authority and may involve identification and method selection for repair areas. The project must reach substantial completion within 365 consecutive calendar days and final completion within 395 consecutive calendar days from Notice to Proceed. QA date - 5-8-2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents shall be submitted in writing to the Engineer via email only to: kmattingly@mckimcreed.com. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda emailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. All Addenda will also be posted at least twenty-four (24) hours before Bids are opened. Questions received than five (5) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered
