Professional engineering services are sought for a new Powder Activated Carbon (PAC) silo and associated dosing equipment at the Jones Ferry Rd Water Treatment Plant. The primary goal is to install a new PAC storage silo to enhance the system's capacity for PFAS removal and taste and odor control, in advance of the plant's Clearwell project scheduled for late 2028. The existing silo no longer provides adequate storage due to increased PAC dosing rates. The selected firm will provide design, permitting, bid assistance, and construction phase services, and will coordinate with the Town of Carrboro for necessary approvals.
