The Board of Education is accepting bids from roofing contractors for a roof renovation at their elementary school in La Grange Park, Illinois. The roofing contractor will act as a general contractor. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, fabrication, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents. This includes, but is not limited to, metal ladders, miscellaneous rough carpentry, limited repairs to built-up asphalt roof membranes and insulation, preparation and application of liquid-applied polyurethane roof membranes, sheet metal flashing and trim, joint sealants, gas piping supports, and exterior painting at Brook Park Elementary School. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting. Required prequalification documentation must be submitted electronically. Sealed bids must be received at the District Office before the specified deadline. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security of ten percent of the Base Bid amount. The successful Bidder must provide construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the final Contract Sum. The Contractor must pay not less than prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under the contract and must comply with the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. Certified payrolls must be submitted electronically for each application for payment. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming or conditional bids, waive irregularities, or accept any bid that best serves the interests of the School District.
