Renovation of a detention facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade detention facility.
This project is for Door Modifications at the DJJ-Warren Regional Detention Center in Columbia, Kentucky. The scope of work includes replacing selected doors and adding new tray slots in existing doors in the dormitory units and recreation yards. There is also the addition of an exterior sally port outside the west recreation yard. ***ONLY ONLINE BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS PROJECT.*** Emailed and hard copies delivered by any method will not be accepted. Bidders must enter $0.00 for Contract Amount in the e-procurement system; the actual contract amount must be entered on the "Official Bid Document" and submitted as an attachment in the e-procurement system. Vendors should review and update all addresses and contact persons for their account prior to bid submission. The entire Official Bid Document and Bid Bond (if required) should be combined as one PDF and uploaded. Contractors must download bid documents, specifications, and drawings from the provided online source. Contractors who obtain plans and specifications from other sources will not be registered as planholders and will not receive addenda. 1.2.1 The types of minimum requirements for procedural and performance or control work of a general nature include but are not necessarily limited to the following categories: Coordination and meetings. Administrative/supervisory personnel. Limitations for use of site. Tradesmen and workmanship standards. Inspections, tests and reports. General installation provisions. Cutting and patching. Cleaning and protection. Conservation and salvage. 1.2.1 Furnish the Owner, through the Architect, not less than three (3) copies of all maintenance and operating data for all air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and similar equipment. Refer also to the requirements in General and Supplementary Conditions as well as Divisions 15 and 16. 1.2.1.1 One copy shall be furnished to the Architect within seven (7) days after equipment is installed so the Owner can begin organizing a Preventive Maintenance Program. 1.2.1.2 Two (2) copies with all corrections shall be furnished the Architect after Substantial Completion and prior to final payment. 1.2.2 Prepare all such manuals in durable plastic binders approximately 8-1/2" x 11" in size and with at least the following: 1.2.2.1 Identification on, or readable through, the front cover stating general nature of the manual. 1.2.2.2 Neatly typewritten index near the front of the manual, furnishing immediate information as to location in the manual of all emergency data regarding the installation. 1.2.2.3 Complete instructions regarding operation and maintenance of all equipment involved. 1.2.2.4 Complete nomenclature of all replaceable parts, their part numbers, current cost and name and address of nearest vendor of parts. 1.2.2.5 Wiring diagrams, control diagrams, etc. 1.2.2.6 Copy of all guarantees and warranties issued. 1.2.2.7 Copy of the approved shop drawings with all data concerning changes made during construction. 1.2.3 Where contents of manuals include manufacturer's catalog pages, clearly indicate the precise items indicated in this installation and delete, or otherwise clearly indicate all manufacturers' data with which this installation is not concerned. 1.2.4 Maintenance Manuals: Organize maintenance-and-operating manual information into suitable sets of manageable size, and bind into individual binders properly identified and indexed (thumb-tabbed). Include emergency instructions, spare parts listing, warranties, wiring diagrams, recommended "turn-around" cycles, inspection procedures, shop drawings, product data, and similar applicable information. Bind each manual of each set in a heavy-duty 2", 3- ring vinyl-covered binder, and include pocket folders for folded sheet information. Mark identification on both front and spine of each binder. 1.2.1 Extent of selective demolition work is indicated on drawings and specified herein. All selective demolition shall be coordinated with the new work. 1.2.2 Types of Selective Demolition Work: Demolition requires the selective removal and subsequent off-site disposal of the following: 1.2.2.1 Removal of existing doors to be replaced as indicated "remove" on the drawings. 1.2.2.2 Removal of existing hardware on doors that are to be replaced. 1.2.2.3 The Owner shall have the option of retaining any items removed. The Contractor shall deliver these items to the Owner's designated storage area. Any items not retained by the Owner shall be disposed of off-site by the Contractor. 1.2.2.3.1 The following items shall be considered salvage and delivered to the Owner: Doors Hardware Other items indicated during the pre-construction meeting A. The work covered by this Section includes the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and incidentals required to manufacture detention/commercial hollow metal as indicated in the drawings or herein specified. B. Related Documents: 1. Architectural drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions. C. Related products furnished by others, but not specified in this section 1. Door Hardware Including Food Pass Hardware 2. Security Glass and Glazing Materials 3. Gaskets and Weather-strips 4.
