Demolition, site work, new construction, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Farley, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for the demolition of a two-story above grade educational facility; for the addition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Western Dubuque County Community School District (the "District") intends to enter into a guaranteed maximum price contract for the renovation and addition to Drexler middle school at 405 3rd Ave NE, Farley, Iowa (the "Project") Proposed Project will be a multi phased construction project consisting of demolition to portions of the existing building including 2-story classroom wing, renovation of kitchen, repurposing administrative office area and construction of new secure main entry and administrative offices, new commons and new classrooms. The District will publish a request for qualifications ("RFQ") for Construction Manager at-Risk ("CMaR") services for the project on December 30, 2025. The RFQ will be posted by the Construction Access Network and on the District's website. The CMaR will be chosen using a two-step solicitation process and chosen on"best value" as outlined in Chapater 26A ofthe Code of Iowa. All CMaR submittals who have demonstrated sufficient qualifications based on the following criteria will be offered the opportunity to submit a proposal based upon a proposal to the District to provide CMaR services: 1. Firm and personnel to be used for the Project. 2. Firm's experience in similar projects. 3. Referencesfor the Firm. 4. Financial and Performance Information. 5. Proposed methodology for the Project. 6. Classrooms and support spaces have been subdivided to meet students' needs, resulting in areas that are at or near capacity. The classroom wings are showing signs of water infiltration into the exterior facade, failing window systems, and roofs that are nearing the end of their service life.
