Site work and renovation of a civil project in Wharton, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Lamatong well #4 and well #5 electrical and water system improvements o the alamatong well #4 and well #5 electrical and water systemimprovement project includes various electrical, mechanical, hvac, scada and site improvements to the existing alamatong well #4 and well #5 stations. Improvements include the following: selective demolition, furnish and install existing motor control centers,appropriate surge protection, step-down transformers, 120/208v panelboards, and install new 100hp variable frequency drives; replace existing interior and exterior lighting; coordinate with mcmua's scada vendor on the upgrade of existing scada panels; furnish and install all necessary piping to connect new pump control valve, painting of all process piping; furnish and install new electrical unit heaters, exhaust fans, and louver actuators;existing driveway replacement for well #5, construction of a permanent foundation for the existing well 5 generator, well #5 generator modification and installation on permanent foundation, perimeter fencing removal and replacement, and new sliding access gates; andreplacement of the existing acoustical panel ceilings. The project includes the installation of a new 300hp variable frequency drive and furnish and install motor replacement of the existing flanders valley well #2. Proposed vfds will be provided through the mcmua'sscada vendor, but shall be installed by the contractor. Contractor shall furnish all necessary materials and labor to complete this work. It is understood this project will require shutdown of these well facilities. Any necessary shutdowns must be coordinated with the mcmua a minimum of 72-hours prior and shall be limited to as short as practical. The contract will allow 365 calendar days for completion of the work from the notice to proceed. Bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid security, by way of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, but not in excess of twenty thousand ($20,000) dollars, made payable to the morris county municipal utilities authority. The mcmua reserves the right, in accordance with applicable law, to reject any and all proposals that substantially or materially deviate from the specifications and other required bid documents, and further reserves the right to waive immaterial irregularities and informalities in the proposals in accordance with applicable law. Question Deadline 12/24/2025 :Any questions shall be submitted in writing in accordance with the Contract Documents. there will not be a question and answer portion to the site visit. Event bid open notes :Forty-eight (48) hours prior to the bid opening, both a telephone number with conference call access number to join the bid opening as well as a web link to join the live bid opening will be posted on the MCMUA's website at online .All bids will be scanned and available for viewing within 24 hours of the bid opening ononline. A. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary and shall take all measures necessary to preserve and protect the site from environmental impact due to construction activities at the site during phases of the project construction. The required measures shall include, but are not necessarily limited to; providing erosion and sediment control methods and devices; confining the activities of his and his subcontractor's equipment and workmen to the designated site boundaries, except as may be required for site ingress and egress; taking effective measures to minimize and control noise due to construction operations; complying with all municipal, State and Federal regulations regarding open burning, air pollution control and water pollution control; disposing of all surplus, unusable and unsuitable excavated material, brush, trees, debris and rubbish to off-site locations; providing sanitary facilities in sufficient numbers for all workmen and visitors to the site, including the Owner, the Engineer, their representatives and representatives of all agencies authorized to visit the site; protection of all surface and ground waters at the site and in proximity to the site; and all else as described hereinafter and as required to fulfill the intent of this section of the specifications. B. In general, the methods and materials used under this specification shall be in accordance with the most recent revision of the Standards for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control in New Jersey, hereafter referred to as Standards) or as otherwise adopted by the local Town agency or department having such jurisdiction. A. Furnish all labor, materials and equipment and perform all work required for the prevention of environmental pollution in conformance with applicable laws and regulations, during and as the result of construction operations under this Contract. For the purpose of this Specification, environmental pollution is defined as the presence of chemical, physical, or biological elements or agents which adversely affect human health or welfare; unfavorably alter ecological balances of importance to human life; affect other species of importance to man; or degrade the utility of the environment for aesthetic and/or recreational purposes; or violate any applicable environmental regulation. B. The control of environmental pollution requires consideration of air, water and land, and involves management of noise and solid waste, as well as other pollutants. C. Schedule and conduct all work in a manner that will minimize the erosion of soils in the area of the Work. Provide erosion control measures such as diversion channels, sedimentation or filtration systems, berms, staked hay bales, seeding, mulching or other special surface treatments as are required to prevent silting and muddying of streams, rivers, impoundments, lakes, etc. All erosion control measures shall be in place in an area prior to any construction activity in that area. D. This Specification is intended to ensure that construction is achieved with a minimum of disturbance to the existing ecological balance between a water resource and its surroundings. These are general guidelines. It is the Contractor's responsibility to determine the specific construction techniques to meet these guidelines. E. All phases of sedimentation and erosion control shall conform to the requirements outlined in the Standards for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control in New Jersey, latest edition including Addenda. A. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required and demolish, modify, remove and dispose of work shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. B. Included, but not limited to, are demolition, modifications and removal of existing materials, equipment or work necessary to install the new work as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein and to connect with existing work in approved manner. C. Demolition, modifications and removals which may be specified under other Sections shall conform to requirements of this Section A. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to furnish, deliver, test, and guarantee all valves and valve appurtenances as specified herein. The Contractor shall also furnish accessories for valves which are not ordinarily included with the valve, such as valve boxes, flange gaskets and hardware, extension stems, etc. B. The Contractor shall install and test pump control valves complete and including all operating appurtenances specified. The Contractor shall coordinate and schedule all testing and inspections of valves with various Valve Manufacturer's representatives. C. The controls furnished with all valves having electrical interface, including solenoid controlled valves and motor operated valves, shall be coordinated with the electrical and instrumentation Contract Drawings and the Instrumentation and Control System Functional Descriptions. D. The Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating the service representative site visits directly with the manufacturer and shall maintain the work progress such that the manufacturer's visits are efficiently utilized. E. The Contractor shall coordinate SCADA integration with: PCS Systems Integrators, Stephen Mirsky, 41 Plymouth Street, Fairfield, NJ 07004 (smirsky@pcsintegrators.com). A. It is the intent of these specifications to include all labor, materials, tools, services, transportation, equipment, temporary protection, permits, and all necessary and related items required to provide the Owner with a complete and properly installed and operating electrical system. B. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, services and transportation for the furnishing and installation of all conduit, junction boxes, enclosures, fuses, switches, receptacles, plugs and necessary devices as shown on the Plans and specified. The Contractor shall complete measurement, control, and alarm systems under this and other Sections of the specifications. C. The Contractor shall make allowance and give particular attention to the manufactureris instruction regarding shielded leads and isolation of various signal leads from each other and from power leads. Separate raceway and/or conduit systems shall be provided for all such wiring, in strict conformance with the instrumentation manufactureris recommendations. D. The Contractor shall furnish and complete all system related electrical connection, wiring and conduit for the installation of remote pilot devices, signal transmitters and devices. All installation procedures and materials shall be in conformance with the manufactureris recommendations and instructions for the specific equipment or device, service application and performance duty A. Provide complete, tested and fully functional electrical systems as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. B. Electrical equipment and installed systems shall be suitable for the application, shall be safe for the intended use, shall be fully rated for the available fault current, and shall conform to local building codes and statutory requirements. C. Submit pre-construction submittal; shop drawing; product data, samples, design data, test reports, certificates, manufacturer's instructions, manufacturer's field reports, operation and maintenance data, closeout submittals and other specified documents to the Engineer for review and approval as described in in other Sections of Division 26. A. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and appurtenances for the following: 1. Excavation of earthwork and trenching made to the lines, grades, and forms, 2. Fill, embankment, and backfill of such excavations, including the materials, their storage and handling, and compaction 3. Other requirements as set forth, shown on the Drawings, and specified herein for the complete and satisfactory construction of Work under this Contract. B. These specifications cover excavation, trenching and backfill work and shall include the necessary clearing, grubbing and preparation of sites; removal and disposal of all debris; excavation and trenching as required; the handling, storage, transportation and disposal of all excavated material; all necessary sheeting, shoring and protection work; preparation of subgrades; pumping and dewatering as necessary or required; preservation of natural features; backfilling; surfacing and grading and other appurtenant work for construction. C. The Contractor shall notify corporations, companies, individuals, or authorities owning utility conduit, wires or pipes running in right of ways, easements, or properties which are encountered during excavating operations. If required for construction and authorized in writing by such utility owner and Engineer, the Contractor shall cap or remove the utility and reinstall service providing proper clearance and protection, in accordance with the utility owner's instructions and its satisfaction. The Contractor shall otherwise protect, support, and maintain all conduit, drains, sewers, pipes, and wires that are to remain and not in direct conflict or interference with construction. D. The Contractor shall satisfy himself as to the nature of the materials to be excavated and amount of dewatering required. The Contractor shall include in his bid all costs in connection with excavation; dewatering and difficulties encountered and shall assume full risk in the matter. E. Excavation work shall be performed in a safe and proper manner, with suitable precautions being taken against hazards of every kind. Excavations shall provide adequate working space and clearances of the work to be performed therein. F. Excavations shall provide adequate clearance for installation and removal of concrete forms. In no case shall excavation faces be undercut for extended footings. G. Backfilling and construction of fills and embankments during freezing weather shall not be done except by permission of the Engineer. No backfill, fill or embankment materials shall be installed on frozen surfaces nor shall frozen materials, snow or ice be placed in any backfill, fill or embankments.
