Site work and paving for a civil project in Pensacola, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and development.

Question Deadline 01/09/2026 at 10:00 AM CT Any questions concerning the bid should be addressed and submitted in writing to: Dedria Lunderman, Purchasing Manager City of Pensacola 222 W. Main St. Pensacola, FL 32502 purchasing@cityofpensacola.com The Barrancas Avenue Right-of-Way has proven to be prone to flooding, and as a contributing basin to Bayou Chico, water treatment is necessary for the stormwater collected in this area. This project addresses the stormwater by channeling it off of the roadway and from the gutters into a series of bioretention treatment swales along the roadway, 5 in total of varying sizes. Each swale shall be constructed to the provided detail, including the thicknesses of the filter media inside each swale, including a bioactivated media (or BAM), gravel, and covered by grasses selected for their tolerance to stormwater and their ability to filter that water. Each swale is fed by one or more PRETX stormwater treatment units that filter the stormwater before it enters the swale. The inlet face of these structures shall collect water directly from the curb. The contractor shall maintain planted vegetation in the swales until the vegetation is "established" to the city's satisfaction. Swales shall be flanked by a berm, typically 6 inches higher than the existing ground level to prevent the swale from spilling onto private property. The berm shall begin at the curb, run perpendicular around the end of the swale, and along the back of the swale, eventually returning perpendicular to the curb at the other end. Access to driveways and businesses shall be always maintained for the duration of this project. The project will require MOT for work performed in or near the roadway. The City shall be notified 48 hours at minimum prior to any changes in the traffic pattern including lane closures and sidewalk closures. The contractor is responsible for the protection of existing utilities and infrastructure located below ground level, and additional utility locates may be necessary during construction. Existing site data indicates the presence of water and gas mains, buried fiber-optic, and overhead electric in and near the proposed excavations. Areas with exposed soil shall be sodded with an approved grass species, and sod shall be pinned on slopes greater than 1:3. Sod shall be maintained for a period of 2 months or until the sod is "established" to the city's satisfaction. Dead, damaged, or washed-out sod shall be replaced at the contractor's expense. Maintenance includes watering as needed. Erosion and sedimentation control shall be performed by the contractor and is included as a line item. The contractor shall ensure that no runoff, soil, debris, etc. enters the roadway. Any facilities unrelated to this project that are damaged or destroyed during the project will be restored at the contractor's expense. Excavation around gas mains, adjustment of gas facilities, and excavation around water mains may require supervision from Pensacola Energy and ECUA, respectively. The city will perform inspections during the project, and work shall be approved by the city inspector. All work shall be in accordance with the standards and specifications provided by the City of Pensacola.
