Remodeling of an educational facility in Brentwood, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade educational facility.
The work consists of removal and replacement of existing flooring, including but not limited to carpet, LVT, VCT, linoleum, rubber base, and underlayment where required. Each bidder must be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code, licensed to perform the work called for in the Contract Documents, and must possess a valid and active Class "C-15" License at the time of bid and throughout the duration of the Contract. Subcontractors must be licensed pursuant to California law for the trades necessary to perform the work. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to the Contract Documents as defined in the General Conditions. There will be a mandatory pre-bid conference, and any contractor who fails to attend will be deemed non-responsive and their bid will be returned unopened. Prevailing wages are applicable, and the contractor and all subcontractors must furnish certified payroll records as required by law. Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount, must be provided prior to execution of the contract. It is the bidder's sole responsibility to ensure the bid is delivered and received at the location designated. Any bid received after the scheduled closing time will be returned unopened. The Contract Time is Thirty Two (32) Calendar days. Estimated Start date: June 8, 2026. CONTRACTOR should consult the General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and General Requirements regarding Milestones and Liquidated Damages. The work consists of removal and replacement of existing flooring, including but not limited to carpet, LVT, VCT, Linoleum, rubber base, and underlayment where required. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and utility and transportation services, and perform and complete all work required in connection with the Pioneer Elementary School - Flooring Replacement Project in strict accordance with the Contract Documents enumerated in Article 7 below. The Contractor shall be liable to the District for any damages arising as a result of a failure to comply with that obligation, and the Contractor shall not be excused with respect to any failure to so comply by an act or omission of the Architect, Engineer, Inspector, Division of the State Architect (DSA), or representative of any of them, unless such act or omission actually prevents the Contractor from fully complying with the Contract Documents and the Contractor protests, in accordance with the Contract Documents, that the act or omission is preventing the Contractor from fully complying with the Contract Documents. Such protest shall not be effective unless reduced to writing and filed with the District office within seven (7) days of the date of occurrence of such act or omission preventing the Contractor from fully complying with the Contract Documents.
