The Town of Newstead is seeking Statements of Qualifications and Proposals from engineering consultants to assist in a study. The selected firm will be contracted for engineering services to develop an engineering report to evaluate the feasibility of providing sanitary sewer conveyance to populated areas in the Town, particularly a section of the Route 5 corridor. The report will consider connecting to the Village of Akron sewer system for treatment at the existing Village Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the alternative of constructing a new WWTP for the Town. Public outreach in the study area is required to assess taxpayer interest in obtaining sanitary sewer service. Proposals and cost quotes should be submitted to the Town Supervisor by email or mail by the specified deadline.
