Renovation of an educational facility in Forest City, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

Prepare and renovate designated spaces to accommodate the current pre-K program currently housed at the Carver Center. Renovate and configure additional spaces to support the expansion of pre-K services beyond current capacity. Provide concurrent design and construction turnkey activities resulting in a finished, fully usable facility that satisfies all requirements and contract terms. All construction must comply with state and local building codes as well as Federal and NC Pre-K and Early Head Start regulations and requirements. Work includes site inventory and evaluation, site investigations, schematic and preliminary design, preparation of design reports, design development, preparation of construction documents, construction administration, and building construction/renovation. Renovations include enlarging restrooms in classrooms, installing new sinks and plumbing, reworking casework, installing windows in restrooms, patching and painting, installing classroom sinks, changing stations, exterior doors and landings, and combining classrooms by demolishing interior walls and reconfiguring restroom access. There will be interactions with the Chief Operations Officer and as needed with the Board of Education and Superintendent via meetings and presentations. The budget for total turnkey design/build services is not to exceed $800,000.00. Respondents must submit a complete, fully executed response in a sealed format by the stated deadline.
