Renovation of an educational facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.
Champaign Community Unit School District No. 4 is inviting sealed bids to upgrade the intercom systems at Kenwood and Robeson Elementary Schools. The scope includes providing a Valcom IP6000 series headend unit, analog or IP speakers, and ensuring that each hallway can be independently programmed for different bell schedules. Any paging system button installed in non-classroom spaces that does not initiate a 2-way paging call must be clearly labeled to indicate its intended function and that it does not support 2-way audio. RJ45 or relay connectors must be securely mounted, out of the way of daily activities, and not left hanging. For classrooms, a lay-in talkback speaker suitable for drop ceilings, such as the Valcom V-9062 or equivalent, is required. Proposed equivalents must be submitted in advance for approval.
