Selective demolition of existing partitions and associated electrical components and wiring. New gypsum wallboard partitions, HM frames, wood doors, and finish hardware, acoustical ceilings, painting, electrical conduit and wiring, modifications to fire suppression systems, fire alarm, and existing HVAC systems. Perspective bidders name must be on the bidders' log. This is accomplished when bidding documents are requested from Wold Architects as indicated. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any or all bids. All Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Tennessee in strict accordance with State regulations. No bid will be opened unless the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information: name, license number, the date of the license expiration, and the classification of the contractors applying to the bid for the prime contract and for the electrical contracts (if applicable to the project), except when the bid is in an amount less the twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). When the bid is less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the name of the contractor only may appear on the outside of the envelope containing the bid, and upon opening the envelope, if such bid is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the same shall automatically be disqualified. Prime contractor bidders who are to perform the electrical, (if applicable to the project) must be so designated upon the outside of the envelope. Failure of any bidder to comply therewith shall void such bid and the envelope containing such bid shall not be opened or considered. In the case of joint ventures bids, each party submitting the bid must provide this information. All Bidders shall comply with the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 and as amended (TCA Title 62). All Bidders shall comply with the Tennessee Contractor' License law Section 62-6-119 (Bid documents Required disclosure by bidders) when submitting bids. All bidders shall adhere to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act enacted in 1964 which states that "No person in the United States shall, on grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance", state of Tennessee funding, and/or Coffee County funding. All bids must be made out on the Bid Forms found in the specification packet. Bids will not be opened from Bidders who have not obtained the specification packet containing documents from the Architect and are not on the bidders list. With the bid, each Bidder must deposit security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, subject to the conditions stated in the Instructions to Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening Employees of the selected contractor must have a sexual predator background check performed prior to entering any Coffee County school grounds as per Tennessee Code Annotated Section 49-5-413.
