Site work for a water / sewer project in Aurora, Illinois. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Project has been cancelled The project is for the dredging of accumulated sediment from the 23-acre Mastodon Lake using hydraulic dredging methods. The work includes dewatering and hauling of dredged materials, installation of mechanical mixing and aeration devices, installation of culvert pipes, and other miscellaneous appurtenances, all to be completed according to the provided plans and specifications. Bidders are required to submit a proposal for the base bid, which covers hydraulic dredging and dewatering at up to five locations (Sites 1-5) along the lake on City owned property. There is also a bid alternative identified in the plans that allows the contractor to use open space west of the lake (Site 6) for dewatering, pending property owner approval. The intent is to dredge a total of 50,000 cubic yards of wet material from the lake, with flexibility as to which dewatering sites are used depending on the acceptance of the bid alternative. The City reserves the right to subtract quantities or remove dewatering sites from the base bid if the alternative is accepted, or to reject the bid alternative altogether. Contractors awarded this project may also be required to work concurrently onsite with other contractors due to a separate bid for Shoreline Stabilization. Question Deadline 01/15/2026 at 10:00 AM CT Bidders shall submit all inquiries online. Under the applicability of the Illinois Department of Commerce and & Economic Opportunity (DCEO), an overall Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Goal of 28% has been determined with 18% of grant dollars going to minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs or WMBEs), and 10% going to women-owned business enterprises (WBEs or WMBEs), or persons with disabilities-owned business enterprises (PBE). This goal is based on the availability of State-certified vendors to perform the anticipated direct subcontracting opportunities of the Utilization Plan (UP).
