The work consists of providing Plumbing and Heating Services on an as-needed basis for various routine and emergency projects. The contractor must employ a master plumber responsible for the work performed by journeymen and apprentice plumbers, follow all local, state, and federal regulations, and respond to emergencies within a 2-hour timeframe. Services include but are not limited to the replacement or repair of sinks, faucets, showers, toilets, water lines, hot water heaters, circulators, back flows, pressure reducing valves, sewer lines, small natural gas and oil furnaces, conducting annual cleanings and inspections of small heating units, providing cost estimates, and relocating plumbing for water meters or sewer services. All contractors must have their own vehicles, tools, and meters, be licensed in plumbing and gas installation/repair in New Hampshire, and have a minimum of five years’ experience. Vendors are responsible for obtaining required permits, providing warranty documentation, and ensuring staff background checks if requested. A detailed cost proposal and qualifications must accompany the submission. The City reserves the right to have multiple awarded bidders to meet its needs. Proposals must include a project understanding, approach, schedule, firm and team information, detailed costs, licenses and permits, warranty information, and a description of the vendor's commitment to timely completion. Subcontractors and their scopes must also be specified. All state and local codes, permits, and licensing requirements must be met, with permits to be obtained before work commences and copies filed with the Purchasing Agent. Local permit fees will be waived by the city.
