Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Merced, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field.
UC Merced intends to construct an outdoor sand volleyball court facility for student recreational use and for club-level competitions. The facility will be a new recreation amenity for the campus located in proximity to the existing outdoor basketball and tennis courts, enhancing student opportunities for student engagement. The intended site is currently developed as a lawn area and is envisioned to accommodate a two-court lighted facility. The courts shall be constructed in accordance with the facility requirements found in the 2025-2027 USA Volleyball Sand Volleyball Rules Book (Rule 1). The perimeter of the site includes some sloped areas which may require additional grading and retaining wall(s) to accommodate the courts. Additionally, the scope of work will include revisions to pedestrian pathways and landscaping adjacent to the facility.
