Competitive bids are sought for the Welding Shop Alterations Project at West Hall for Union County Vocational-Technical Schools. Bid packages, plans, and specifications can be examined at Netta Architects in Mountainside, New Jersey and are available for purchase. Bidders must submit bids in a sealed envelope with the project title, bid number, and name and address of the bidder. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. Bidders must comply with requirements under N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. Bidders must also be classified by the State of New Jersey, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) under classification #C008 or #C009, and must meet documentary requirements as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders must submit a statement of ownership, and those bidding on a public works project with costs exceeding $20,000 must be prequalified by the Department of Treasury, with the necessary documentation included. Each bid requires a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check for ten percent of the bid amount, not exceeding $20,000. Contractors must have a valid and current New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Public Works Contractor's Registration Certificate. Failure to comply with the instructions or submit all forms may result in disqualification and rejection of the bid. The school reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions.
