Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and water / sewer project.
In general, the work consists of: a complete modernization and addition to the Collins Classroom Building, 1 to be renamed as Sentry Hall, (107,332 gross square feet) creating a new technology-rich home for the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Sentry School of Business and Economics. The project is located at 1801 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Demolition of most of the interior, non-load bearing partitions, a portion of the building concrete structure, the entire penthouse, a portion of the slab on grade, and the entire building envelope will occur. The project will construct new additions on the west and south side of the building as well as a new penthouse, to provide accessibility to the building and maximize needed office, classroom, and student study spaces within the building. All building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, and plumbing) will be removed and replaced in their entirety, and a new fire suppression system and emergency power generator will be installed. A new connection to central campus chilled water and steam utilities, and campus fiber optic network will be constructed. Two new modern ADA-compliant elevators capable of accommodating a stretcher will be installed in new 1shafts. The entire exterior envelope, including back-up will be replaced, including energy efficient and bird friendly glazing. The current roofing system will be replaced, and roof insulation added. New light monitors will be installed in the fourth-floor slab, providing daylight to the interior classrooms below. The buildings four existing entries will be improved, andthe site regraded to provide accessibility at all entries. The improved landscape will provide a feature for stormwater detention and better incorporate into the campus landscape design.
