Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Ankeny, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The project involves work related to the Ankeny CSD New MS Baseball & Softball Fields. Bids must be submitted before 2:00 PM on January 29, 2026, at the Ankeny Community School's District Office located at 406 SW School Street, Ankeny, Iowa. Bids received after this deadline will not be accepted. A refundable deposit of $100 made out to FRK Architects must be provided to Beeline and Blue. A. Extent of Earthwork is indicated on Drawings. B. Work includes: 1. Stripping, topsoil stockpiling. 2. Excavation. 3. Fill. 4. Compaction. 5. Preparation of subgrade for walls, parking and drives, and steps and walks. 6. Grading. 7. Pond Liner Construction 8. Flyash for Track and Field 9. Topsoil placement. 10. Finish grading. 11. Erosion Control A. Perform all excavations required to complete the work shown on the plans. B. Prepare trench excavations and shoring for new work, and install the utility lines, structures, and system components, including bedding and foundation stabilization. C. Complete specified backfill operation. D. Reference is made to the Iowa Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, Series 2001, and all current General Supplemental Specifications and Materials Instructional Memorandum by the term "Iowa DOT Specifications" and/or "Iowa DOT I.M." A. Furnish all materials; install, construct, maintain, and remove specified erosion control devices; at locations specified in the contract documents, or where specified by the Engineer, Owner and City. B. Complete the required construction work on this project, while minimizing soil erosion and controlling water pollution. Maintain these features as specified, from initial construction stages to final completion of the project. A. The following irrigation system when fully completed shall water and be adjusted to all noted field turf areas. It is the intent of the diagrammatic irrigation plan to install all products within the Owner's property limits and within all turf areas. Contractor to utilize existing mechanical point of connection (POC) equipment, as located by Owner's Engineer - on civil plan installed by Licensed Plumber as per all local codes. B. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and permitting required to removed existing irrigation components and construct a new automatic irrigation system including but not limited to: 1. Connection to existing 2" irrigation tap, located as per plan. 2. Valves, mechanical and electrical; 3. Controller, rain switch and bypass and all wiring; 4. Sleeving and piping; and 5. Sprinklers with all associated equipment for the complete operation of an automatic irrigation system. C. Irrigation system shall be installed as a complete fully automatic coordinated system by a CIC (certified irrigation contractor), current with I.A. (Irrigation Association) and an actual employee of irrigation bidding contractor (no buying stamps). All equipment whether mentioned or not shall be provided for the proper operation of irrigation system. Operation shall be as per manufacturer recommendations and to the satisfaction of Owner. All system components shall be coordinated to provide a fully compatible functioning system. D. Provide and install as required, the following - see all related plans: 1. Valves, fittings and piping - as per local codes by Licensed Plumber and included in Irrigation Contractors bid. (all electrical supplied by Irrigation Contractor and performed by Licensed Electrician - as required). 2. Irrigation controller and connection to 120V circuit. 3. All permits required for the complete installation of irrigation system. E. Connect to existing mainline below both finish grades. Size as required. Coordinate with General Contractor and related trades. F. Licensed Electrician to provide and install 120V/240 volt electrical power cable and outlet for irrigation controller on separate circuit. Coordinate location with all trades including electrical contractor. A. Construct storm sewers, subdrains, and footing drain collectors. B. Construct storm sewer service and connections. C. Reference is made to the Iowa Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, Series 2012, and all current General Supplemental Specifications and Materials Instructional Memorandum by the term "Iowa DOT Specifications" and/or "Iowa DOT I.M."
