The 2026 PCC Street Patching Program includes the full depth removal and replacement of PCC street pavement at five separate sites located at: East First Street between Ankeny Boulevard and Delaware Avenue; SW White Birch Drive Roundabout and SW Polk City Drive just west of SW State Street; City Hall Parking Lot and Hawkeye Park Parking Lot; SE Shurfine Drive between SE Hulsizer Road and SE Delaware Avenue and SE Hulsizer Road between SE Shurfine Drive and SE Dalbey Drive; and NW Westwood Street just south of NW 5th Street and Carlson Ridge Estates, Diamond Hills, and Tradition Greens Neighborhoods. Construction improvements involve approximately 1,025 SY of 9" thick PCC Class M full depth patches, 2,100 SY of 9" thick PCC Class C-SUD full depth patches, 1,850 SY of 8" thick PCC Class C-SUD street pavement, 650 SY of 8" thick PCC Class C-SUD full depth patches, and 1,750 SY of 7" thick PCC Class C-SUD full depth patches. Other improvements include removal and replacement of storm sewer structures, adjustments to existing storm sewer and sanitary sewer structures, ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, temporary surface restoration, temporary traffic control, maintenance of postal service and solid waste collection, mobilization, and miscellaneous associated work. A truss screed or laser screed must be used for patches greater than or equal to three panels in length. The Contractor must substantially complete each of the five sites within the specified number of working days for each site. No more than two sites shall be worked on at the same time unless approved by the Engineer. Substantial completion for each site includes all utility, grading, and pavement construction completed, temporary surface restoration finished, and pavement open to traffic. Liquidated damages will be assessed if substantial or full completion deadlines are not met.
