Sealed proposals for all work categories as described in the Project Manual for Allegan Public Schools - Dawson Elementary Renovations will be received. Proposals should be addressed to the Project Manager and delivered to Allegan Public Schools, Administration Building. All proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately following the bid submission deadline. Duplicate proposals shall be submitted to the Construction Manager in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the work category number, project name, and bidder's name and address. All contractors bidding must be bondable and must include in their bid the cost for furnishing a Co-Obligee Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Co-Obligee Performance Bond. The proposal form must identify a cost to be deducted if bonds are not required. A pre-bid conference is strongly recommended for contractors to attend. Contract documents may be obtained via Procore upon request. All questions are to be directed to the Construction Manager; no direct contact with the Owner or Architect is requested. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, money order, or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid as a bid security. The bid security of Bidders under consideration will be returned immediately after award of contracts. The amount of the guarantee shall be forfeited to the Owner if the successful Bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish required bonds and insurance within 30 days after award. All proposals submitted shall remain valid for sixty (60) days after the bid date. The Owner, Architect and Construction Manager reserve the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all proposals, or accept any proposal they deem in their best interest.
