The base project consists of the construction of two new crosswalks with ADA compliant ramps located at the intersections of Cutler Street and Water Street and Trowbridge Street and Water Street. The base bid also includes crosswalk and ADA compliant ramp work along Academy Street at the intersections of Sherman Street, Knapp Street, and Arbor Street, as well as drainage work at the Arbor St intersection. The project includes an alternate consisting of the construction of a new sidewalk along the North side of Academy Street from Sherman Street to Arbor Street. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. A certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Allegan will be required with each bid as security for the proper execution of the contract. A 100% Labor, Material, and Performance Bond will be required of successful bidder. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled opening without consent of the OWNER.
