Renovation of a municipal facility in Allegan, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
1.1 As guided by the County's Project Team ("Project Team"), Contractor shall complete the renovation to the 2nd Floor of the County's Human Services Building located at 3255 122nd Ave as further detailed herein. 1.2 Given the relatively simple and straightforward scope of work, it is expected that Contractor, in the capacity of a general construction contractor, can execute the project with minimal design work. Contractor is expected to employ, consult and/or subcontract with all appropriate specialties as may be necessary to complete the project and to have included all related costs in its bid. 1.3 The entire 2nd Floor of the Human Services Building is leased by the County to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Contractor questions and the County's responses posted during the open bidding process as RFP Clarifications will be included here wherein they modify or clarify the terms of this Agreement or the scope of work outlined in the RFP. Final decisions on quantities and any limits to the scope of work shall also be noted here once project costs have been evaluated by the County. The County will discuss and negotiate any additional modifications or clarifications made after the proposal due date with the Contractor prior to incorporating them into this Agreement. The following bonds or securities shall be secured by the Contractor upon full execution of this Agreement whenever the contract award exceeds $50,000. These bonds or securities shall be included in this Agreement and become binding on the parties. A. A performance bond satisfactory to the County, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Michigan or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the County, in an amount equal to 100% of the price specified in this Agreement; and B. A payment bond satisfactory to the County, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Michigan or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the County, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and material to the Contractor or its subcontractors for the performance of the work provided for in this Agreement. The bonds shall be an amount equal to 100% of the price specified in this Agreement. The County reserves the right to suspend operations for any reason that it may deem necessary for a period not longer than ten days, at any one time in which event Contractor will be allowed an extension of time equivalent to the time that the work has been suspended. Should such a suspension be deemed necessary by the County, Contractor shall have no claim for damage due to such suspension.
