The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, including dredges, support vessels, barges, floating and shore pipelines, submersible discharge pipeline units, and upland placement facilities. Average annual dredging is 2.5 to 4 million cubic yards of material, primarily sand, gravel, and pumice, with dredging depths between 20 and 48 feet Columbia River Datum. Operations must support pumping up to 2 miles from the dredge site and maintain production rates of 18,000 to 25,000 cubic yards per day. Placement areas include deep water, shallow water, shoreline, new island construction, and confined upland sites with return water management. Environmental compliance requirements include spill protection, turbidity monitoring, bird monitoring, and vegetation protection. The contractor must remain proximal to the navigation project year-round to support seasonal and emergency dredging needs.
