The City of Elma has a need for qualified consultants to develop a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan for providing temporary demonstration safety improvements in the city. The city is seeking professional expertise in transportation and in public outreach/planning to complete this project. The City has obtained a federal Safe Streets for All grant (Grant No. 693JJ32540168) from the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide assistance in funding these improvements. The objective is to eliminate vehicular-related fatalities and serious injuries on Elmas streets by identifying and implementing data-driven strategies, projects, and policies. The consultant will engage the public in determining where transportation safety improvements are needed and solicit ideas for improvements. A range of public relations and outreach is expected including but not limited to social media, surveys, advertising and signage, public input opportunities at areas where people may be likely to be using the citys active transportation network, and public meeting(s), This public feedback, along with comments received during Council meetings is to be incorporated into the draft Safety Action Plan, and later the final Safety Action Plan. Deliverables: Engagement summaries and documentation of feedback integration into the draft and final action plans. Prepare a Draft Action Plan in both pdf and editable format for City review; which shall include traffic data collected and trends identified.
