The work consists of all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, and materials for the installation of manholes, sewer piping and services, watermain and services, hydrants, curb and gutter, and HMA pavement for the 2026 Washington Street Utility Project. Approximate primary quantities are as follows: Manholes: 2 EA 8" Sanitary Sewer: 233 LF 6" Watermain: 526 LF Fire Hydrant: 2 EA Residential Sewer and Water Services 2 EA 6" Water Service 1 EA 6" Sanitary Sewer Service 1 EA The Work shall be constructed along Washington Street between Clay and South Street and at the intersection of Clay and Webster Street in South Central area of the City of Calmar, Winneshiek County, Iowa. Question Deadline 01/26/2026 Bidders must examine and carefully study all Bidding Documents and referenced data, visit and visually examine the site and adjacent areas, and become familiar with all local conditions that may affect cost, progress, and performance. Bidders must satisfy themselves as to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that may affect the work, and study all available reports relating to subsurface or hazardous environmental conditions. Bidders are to submit sealed bids including all forms and attachments as provided, accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid price. Each bidder must provide a list of proposed subcontractors and suppliers with qualifying experience statements. The City of Calmar reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities, and to award the contract in its best interest. Work shall commence on or after June 1, 2026. Work shall be substantially complete by no later than August 15, 2026. All work shall be completed and ready for final acceptance by August 30, 2026.
