Completed plans call for the addition of a 20,000-square-foot, three-story above grade medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; for the renovation of a 31,800-square-foot, two-story above grade medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.

DAS/CS is seeking the services of a highly talented and experienced Construction Manager to provide the following type of services in support of the above-referenced Project. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) is a three-story building of approximately 31,800 SF used for autopsies and death investigations. The building was constructed approximately 40 years ago, and there have been no major system upgrades or improvements. Based on the OCME needs for additional autopsy rooms, coolers, and supporting spaces, the expansion and renovation concept includes a two-story addition of approximately 20,000 SF, full-gut interior renovation of the existing 31,800 SF building, selective need-based envelope renovations, and site renovations including new forced main, the addition of a Sally Port and a direct connection to Route 4. Based on the OCME needs for additional autopsy rooms, coolers, and supporting spaces, the expansion and renovation concept includes a two-story addition of approximately 20,000 SF, full-gut interior renovation of the existing 31,800 SF building, selective need-based envelope renovations, and site renovations including new forced main, the addition of a Sally Port and a direct connection to Route 4. The completed renovation and addition shall not utilize fossil fuels. There are known hazardous materials, abatement is to be included in project design and construction scopes. The OCME will remain in operation and functional during design and construction requiring phasing, scheduling, coordination, and logistics to maintain services such as autopsy facilities operations, storage, refrigeration, mechanical and administrative spaces. Prior team experience with medical examiner facilities, research hospitals, and/or pathology/autopsy suites is preferred.
