Renovation of an educational facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
This project has a target for Targeted Small Business participation of ten percent (10%). Project consists of upgrades to the building automation system controlled by the existing NAE-08 Controller. The project is located at Kennedy High School. Bids will be received for a general contract involving all trades. Bidders must submit bid security with each bid, in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount, and be prepared to provide a performance bond, labor and material payment bond, and insurance acceptable to the Owner. The contractor may purchase materials, supplies, and equipment exempt from sales tax, provided the Owner issues an authorization letter and exemption certificate specific to this project. The project has a target of ten percent participation by Targeted Small Businesses. All bidders must provide a statement regarding their residency status, be properly licensed, and able to obtain the required insurance and bonds. It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder in accordance with bidding requirements, although the Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities. Bidding documents can be accessed online, and a prebid meeting will be held at Kennedy High School. No bids may be withdrawn for 60 days after opening, and bid security must be submitted as specified.
