Sealed proposals are requested for the construction, repair, and/or installation of improvements for the CIP3638 DMPS Samuelson Elementary Secure Entry. Bids must be submitted on the approved form available in the plans and specifications. Plans and specifications are available from Beeline and Blue or may be inspected at designated locations. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashiers check, or certified credit union share draft in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, provided in a separate envelope. Lump-sum bids will be received under one contract as described in the specifications. Bids will be opened and read aloud immediately after the closing time for receiving bids. The Board of Directors may award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications and reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and enter into such contract or contracts as are deemed in the best interest of the school district. Work must commence immediately after contract award and be completed and ready for operation within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed, subject to any extension granted by the Board. Preference will be given to products and labor from within the State of Iowa, in accordance with Iowa Code and Board Policies.
