Grounds and Landscape Services. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check payable to the Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) for a sum not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid, or a bid bond in the same amount from a corporate surety licensed to do business in Massachusetts. The bidder must enter into a contract in accordance with the bid and furnish any required bonds, insurance documents, or other required documents within ten days of notification that the bid has been accepted. The RMLD reserves the right to reject any and all bids, including nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids, and may waive minor informalities not involving price, time, or changes to the work. Bids shall remain valid and binding for sixty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, following the submission deadline. No agreement shall be valid or binding unless duly executed by RMLD or a purchase order is issued by an authorized representative of the RMLD.
