Renovation of an educational facility in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Sealed bids will be accepted from qualified contractors for the Old Administration Building (Hilltop) Asbestos Abatement project for Cedar Springs Public Schools. Specifications are available online or may be purchased in print. A non-mandatory pre-bid site inspection meeting is offered for bidders to become familiar with site conditions. Bids require a bid security of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount, which must accompany the bid and may be in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or money order payable to Cedar Springs Public Schools. All bids must include a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship with school board members or relevant staff, as well as a sworn and notarized affidavit of compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after the bid date. Cedar Springs Public Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Cedar Springs Public Schools is seeking bids from qualified bidders to perform asbestos abatement at the Old Administration Building (Hilltop). These Project Specifications are intended to provide interested bidders all of the information necessary to submit a bid for the WORK. The WORK shall be completed by a State of Michigan licensed asbestos abatement CONTRACTOR with only accredited abatement workers and abatement supervisors completing the work in accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requirements. The scope of work includes removal of asbestos containing flooring, cove base & glue, pipe insulation, glued on ceiling tiles, visual display boards and glue, cement board panels, boiler gaskets, valve flange gaskets and caulks. Other non-ACM, hazardous materials to be removed include light bulbs and ballasts, AC units/refrigerators and fire rated cabinets and safes. The work is scheduled to start end of February and be completed by end of March.
