Renovation of a municipal facility in Melbourne, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Sealed bids are invited for ITB No. ITB-B26007K-0-2026/KL VARIOUS COLUMN REPAIRS. Instructions, specifications, and forms for submitting bids may be obtained through the Demandstars bid distribution system or by contacting the City of Melbourne Procurement Division. Bids are to be received in accordance with the City Charter and Code of Ordinances. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive technicalities and informalities. DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS, REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATION & EXCEPTIONS: FEBRUARY 19, 2026 BY 2:00 PM ET A. CONTRACTOR shall field verify all existing conditions. B. CONTRACTOR shall assess and repair various columns at Eau Gallie Civic Center. C. Typical column spall repair : a. CONTRACTOR shall remove existing spalled concrete to sound concrete, minimum 1/2" behind steel for mortar. b. CONTRACTOR shall ensure the edges of the concrete are perpendicular to the surface or slightly undercut. feathered edges are not permitted. roughen profile to edge of patch (1/4" minimum). c. CONTRACTOR shall clean exposed reinforcing with powered wire brush, abrasive blasting, or water blasting to remove all rust, dirt, mildew, dust, and other foreign material. splice where greater than 15% loss. coat the exposed reinforcing with Euclid "Duralprep ac" corrosion inhibitor or approved equal. d. CONTRACTOR shall prepare surface per manufacturer's recommendations. Apply bonding agent if recommended by manufacturer. e. CONTRACTOR shall trowel apply patching material per manufacturer's recommendations. patching material shall be Sikatop 123 by Sika Corp. or approved equal. f. CONTRACTOR shall cure and seal the patch with Euclid "super aqua-cure vox" sealing compound, or approved equal, or cover with polyethylene sheeting for a minimum of 3 days. D. Typical parking deck surface repair: a. CONTRACTOR shall chip to sound concrete square edges and roughen profile to 1/4" amplitude. b. CONTRACTOR shall prepare surface per manufacturer's recommendations. Apply bonding agent if recommended by manufacturer. c. CONTRACTOR shall trowel apply patching material per manufacturer's recommendations. Patching material shall be Sikatop 123 by Sika Corp. Or approved equal. E. Typical rebar splice detail: a. CONTRACTOR shall: i. Option 1: lap splice typical reinforcing bar. ii. Option 2: use mechanical splices to submit manufacturer's information for approval. Mechanical splice to provide full capacity of spliced rebar. F. Typical concrete crack repair detail- rout and seal: a. CONTRACTOR shall ensure concrete surfaces shall be fully dry and cured prior to installation of approved sealant material. b. CONTRACTOR shall rout/grind cracks as required, clean profiled surfaces using compressed air or other means to remove dust, debris and other material which might impair the approved sealant bond to the substrate. c. CONTRACTOR shall prime surfaces to receive sealant and seal with an approved polyurethane sealant as shown. d. CONTRACTOR shall prohibit vehicular and pedestrian traffic on sealed joints until sealant material has cured according to manufacturer's recommendations. i. Products: 1. Horizontal cracks: Sikaflex crack flex sealant. 2. Vertical and overhead cracks: Sikaflex concrete fix. G. Typical hairline crack repair detail - epoxy adhesive sealer for cracks less than 1/32"' wide (field verify existing conditions): a. CONTRACTOR shall ensure concrete surfaces shall be fully dry and cured prior to installation of approved epoxy adhesive sealer. b. CONTRACTOR shall clean the surface and the crack in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations for the application of the epoxy adhesive to permit proper bonding. c. CONTRACTOR shall blow out the crack with air to remove any loose material without forcing the material into the crack. d. CONTRACTOR shall seal the crack with Sikadur 33 epoxy adhesive or approved equal. Apply sealer with roller, brush or hand pressure spray.
