Sealed bids are invited for the construction of additions and renovations to Hempfield Area Senior High School. Separate, sealed bids will be received for the following Prime Contracts: General Construction, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Construction, Plumbing Construction, and Electrical Construction. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked with the project name, and will be received until a specified deadline at the Hempfield Area School District Administrative Offices. Bidding documents are available electronically at no cost upon written request with bidder information provided. Questions regarding the contract documents and bid submission should be directed in writing to the specified firm and contact. Instructions to bidders: Bids should be clearly marked, submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the bidder, and received before the stated deadline. Bidders are required to request bidding documents in writing and provide specific contact information, including mailing address, representative, telephone, fax, email, and desired contract documents. The Project consists of selective demolition and comprehensive renovations to the existing Hempfield Area Senior High School along with construction of new additions. B. Generally, the new construction consists of both load bearing masonry and steel frame construction,steel joists andmetal deck,masonry veneer, exteriormetal wall panels, fully adhered EPDM membrane roofing, aluminum windows,storefront and curtain wallsystems, casework and interior finishes along with the specified mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. 4. Electrical Construction Contract 3751-4: The Electrical/Data Networking Contract includes the furnishing and installation of the electrical power distribution, lighting, and special systems, plus other construction operations traditionally recognized as Electrical Construction. Definition of Extent of Prime Contract Work: The Contract Documentsindicate the extent of each prime contract. Except where the Contract Documents contain a more specific description, general names and terminology on the Drawings and in the Specification Sections determine which prime contract includes a specific element of the Project. 6. Local custom and trade union jurisdictional settlements do not control the scope of Work included in each prime contract. When a potential jurisdictional dispute or similar interruption of work is first identified or threatened, the affected prime contracts shall promptly negotiate a reasonable settlement to avoid or minimize the pending interruption and delays.
