Demolition, site work and renovation of a military facility in Victoria, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 0-square-foot, 0-story below grade military facility.
The Asset Renewal Program at 19 Wing Comox focuses on renewing infrastructure including linear (underground services) and vertical (building) assets built between 1946 and 1989. The Department of National Defence intends to renew systems covering civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental elements to bring these assets up to current and projected future requirements. The project will be implemented through planned, phased work packages over ten years while maintaining operations at 19 Wing Comox. The objective is to retain a contractor to provide construction management services for pre-construction and construction phases. Major construction services are expected to include interior and exterior demolition in the presence of hazardous materials, interior renovations, exterior envelope work, electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural work. The estimated value of construction work is $60 million, with optional phases worth $40 million, for a total maximum estimated value of $100 million. The work includes organizing and completing construction packages for the recapitalization of linear and vertical assets at 19 Wing Comox, HMCS Quadra, Seal Bay Armoury, and CFS Holberg. Bidders are instructed that they will be required to hold or obtain all required security clearances prior to contract award, with the anticipated security clearance level being Facility Security Clearance (FSC).
