Site work for a water / sewer project in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of the surface preparation and repainting of an existing above-ground water reservoir, including all associated structural and mechanical appurtenances. Work shall include evaluation of existing coating conditions, containment and protection of adjacent facilities, and removal of deteriorated paint and corrosion in accordance with applicable industry standards. All work must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA safety requirements and environmental controls. Surface preparation shall achieve specified cleanliness and surface profile through methods such as abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, or other approved techniques. After preparation, a complete protective coating system suitable for water utility infrastructure must be applied per manufacturer’s recommendations and project specifications, including required thickness, curing times, and quality control testing. The contractor must also ensure completion of chlorination and disinfection process, collect samples prior to activation, and file required IEPA forms and applications for regulatory compliance. All labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform this work safely and efficiently, while maintaining continuous facility operation, are required. This includes site safety, traffic control, and final cleanup and restoration, as well as submission of all required documentation such as inspection reports, warranties, grant funding, and tracking documents in accordance with DCEO and as-built records. The scope of services includes developing project plans, technical specifications, and contract documents; reviewing and approving contractor submittals; assisting with permits and approvals; managing construction phase oversight including site visits and quality control; providing detailed cost estimates and value engineering; maintaining a comprehensive project schedule; coordinating with City staff and stakeholders; and demonstrating experience with DCEO-funded projects.
