Sealed bids are invited for supplying up to 100,000 tons total for all Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) types and up to 5,000 tons of cold mix pothole patching material, to be provided at the bidder's asphalt plant and loaded into Monroe County trucks. The bidder is responsible for providing itemized monthly billings. Bid prices must hold for one year from the award date by the Board of Commissioners. The contract may be renewed for up to two additional one-year terms by mutual agreement. Bids received after the stated deadline, or sent by facsimile or e-mail, will not be accepted. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or portion thereof, and to waive any irregularities in the bidding process. Bids may be held for up to 60 days before awarding the contract. If the bid is for certain materials like sand, gravel, or asphalt paving materials, contracts may be awarded to more than one bidder based on location, availability, and customer service. All out-of-state corporations must have certification to do business in Indiana. Bidders must comply with Chapter 275 of the Monroe County Code, the Responsible Bidder Ordinance.
